Send your sightings

Currently this site concentrates on species identified in the Durham Biodiversity Action Plan, and the North Pennines AONB.

The minimum details the sighting can consist of is the species name and the grid reference of where the species was seen. We also ask for your membership number or email address so that sighting may be confirmed if needed. We also give you the option of setting the date for your sighting. Other information may be entered to help us validate the information.

We hope to offer a point-and-click way of generating the grid reference later this year, but currently we ask for the OS grid reference to be entered manually. We also have a grid reference checker, courtesy of MultiMap, which can be used to verify your grid reference.
